Question OMG Now what

After a loooong ride:

Turn off bike and while backing up or going forward there is a "Bearing rubbing" sound...

Is this my tranny going out , bearing or somthing simple ?

It's diffently coming from the shifter side.

Just your brake shoes rubbing the disks don't be alarmed.

Yea, I agree. Probably just the brake pads slidding on the rotors.

squeeze the brake lever really hard and move it back and forth. can you hear it now?

try really lightly, most likely rear pads, just enought to be able to move the bike and see if the noise is different pitch, if so its the brake pads..... if not you have a big hole it the transmission!!! just kidding!

Had the same think happen one day,Backing up and heard the same noise rolled forward and again heard it. Thought wtf is that, put it on the jack spun the tires and it was just as the others said Brake pads, went away after a ride and have not heard it again. Freaked me out at first.

I always do a U-turn in front of my garage, shut down then walk the bike back into the garage. With the bike not running I always hear the brake rub. no biggie at all.
