Default Back from LSR - impressions

I've attended all the past LSR's and just had some impressions of this year's - wondering if others had noticed same. While the crowds were big, I don't think we got to the 400k like last year...the weather reports may have contributed to that. I saw fewer "HOLY Sheet" bikes than I seem to have seen in the past(applies to women as well). Stayed at Moody Gardens and the typical number and quality bikes there were way down. - PLUS MG hotel wasn't quite as welcoming as in the past. Other than that, it was a great weekend to reconnect with friends and I walked away with a really cool damascus folding knife as an early birthday gift from the wonderful GF. Doing a bit of drying out and cleanup today...

the crowds could have been split up due to the fact they had some on seawall

I think 400K is highly exaggerated numbers for the past. Maybe 200K max and that's being very generous.

I do agree with you, attendance seemed to be down. Part of the Stand having thinner crowds was that they were charging $10 to cruise it, bunk that. And as another person posted, the event was split, which I like.

We stayed at the Four Points hotel at 23rd which had us right in the middle of seawall events and vendors.

I picked up a set of Dakota Digitals from HCC and two custom made Corbin seats.

The change for the cost to access the Strand this year was $10 per DAY, in the past it was a single time cost for the week -if memory is correct, I think it was $10

I've always just gone down on Sat for the day. We always paid $10 to park on the Strand. Don't know if that was for just one day or not. I think the threat of rain scared some away. We had a good time and managed to time it so that we stayed dry.

I always thought their 400k estimate was way high. I wasn't there this year, so maybe that's why the crowd seemed smaller

I thought they changed to $10.00 per day on the Strand last year. Before, it was $10.00 for the weekend. I opted to park elsewhere this year.

Yeah, they started the daily charge last year, pretty much park and walk time for me when they did that. Top it off with the fact that after watching three different idiots launch their baggers at the rev limit in the middle of the strand, I was pretty much done riding down the Strand.
