Default stage IV air cleaner

I have my 13 street glide at the dealership getting sage IV installed. Had picked out SE extreme billet ac part #29400064 for this build. Found out later that this ac was not really meant for 58mm tb. It bolts up but there is small lip where ac backing plate and tb meet. Don"t know if impedes air flow because tb tapers into flapper. What do you guys think? Different ac? No big deal? Lip is prob less than 1/16 th in. Mechanic says no big deal.

I say use the correct SE backing plate. Your mechanic is a dumbass. They MAKE a backing plate that is specific to the 58 TB.

air flow needs to be smooth any changes in diameter or impediments have to be designed in for a reason.

intake walls may be rough, that is fine, but any "step" changes will decrease the flow and power what you are paying for.

maybe you can get the parts machined to match

Your mechanic is lazy and not very good at what he does.

You need A/C # 29515-08 if you want to stay with the stock style look.

How many do you want?! Use the correct part. You're spending out to improve your bike, don't spoil it for the sake of a single part.

What he said, buy one that fits and I hope he didn't just throw parts in the same way when he built your motor.
