...and if they do what material/brand do I want to stay away from. I have two aftermarket windshields for my bike. The one I use mostly is a VStream and seems almost impervious to scratching. The other is all scratched to hell and gone even though I rarely use it. Have no idea what it is made of, but obviously something soft I guess.
the Lexan is strong and pretty tough- I've taken a few rocks that would have broken my face
there are all kids of grades out there depending on whether "hard" acrylic with is forged or 'soft" which is usually melted together from pellet stock..as far as I could learn from the internets
the hard stuff when cut with a rotozip will cut and flake off- the soft stuff will melt and clog up the bit
Your National Cycle VStream is the toughest windshield on the planet. They are literally bullet and shotgun proof (watch the videos on their site). I wouldn't run anything else on my bikes.
I run 2 shileds, Klock Werks and Long Ride, the Klock is twice as old as the LRS, and the LRS is all pitted with stone chips, the Klock hardly has a mark on it, so to answer your question, I think so. Trial and error, or take the advice of HDF members.
