My EGUC has 55,544 miles on it. The belt snapped this morning in the parking lot as I prepared to go to work. I had just gotten the bike out of the shop for a new throttle cable and rode about 50 miles to check her out, top speed 85. Glad it decided to snap in the parking lot.

I replaced mine at 80,000. It had a small rock pierce the center of the belt a few years ago. Didn't seem to bother it. I changed a rear tire this past spring and when I checked the belt, the was about a 1/4" crack migrating across the belt. Don't know how long it was there but it seemed like a good time to replace it and the sprockets. The sprockets were a bit beat up, probably from the small rock that had been stuck in the belt. All in all the belts seem pretty bulletproof.

Timely thread for me! Tomorrow I replace my broken original belt that made it 119,960 miles. I suspect the cracked swingarm ( now repaired,) discovered at the same time may have contributed to it.

Certainly no complaints here.
