Bought my '07 Electe glide Classic in Nov. No problems. Was told of a whine that may occur in 5th gear but I haven't noticed it in the 800 miles placed since.

 

Hey all I have a 07 Ultra got her just before going to Sturgis in late July 06 .I love her but I did have the whinning in 5th gear but was told it was a gear cutting issue not to worry . As far as a man upgrading to a new 96" 6 speed Harley like the saying IF YOU HAVE TO ASK jusk joking .Dude you will love this machine she will put you on the cloud you usually ride on but with more Eagles and Wolfs running in your pack . So for my opion your not back from the dealer yet, hope ya get you a new one and ride like there is no tomarrow because I know the rest of uswill .

Well I have to agree with the majority of the posts, a little whine in fifth and a little clatter in 5th and 6th, but its a motorcycle so don't let it bother you to much and turn up the radio.....

 

I traded my 1998 ultra for a 2007 ultra. As others are saying, 1st and 5th are noisier than the other gears . These two are no noisier than ALL the gears on my1998 bike - as guys are saying - 2,3,4,6 are helical cut and so are very quiet. Get a 2007 and enjoy !!
