Default Fewer 07 Problems Now?

I sold my 02 Heritage and I am seriously considering an 07 Electraglide Classic for more touring comfort.I have first option on a mid January 07 production bike.I 've read some comments on this forum about clattering noise supposedly related to the tranny. Are those of you getting recent off the production line bikes having the same problems or is it confined to the earliest bikes produced?Or did those who got their bikes later simply have their expectations lowered so really discounted the problems when they got their bikes?I am giving some thought to waiting a while longer for an 08 in August to be safer.

Got my Ultra in late August. No clattering, no tranny noise.

My Dad got an '07 EG at the end of December and has had no noises or trouble in 2000 miles so far.

I've noticed the complaints were mostly with the touring machines. I'm wondering if the cooler weather hasn't had something to do with all these issues as well....

There never was a problem with the transmission on the 07's . A few guys were complaining of a sound thatturn es out came from the primary , which was fixed with the free torque smoothing download service bulletin a few months ago. I know several guys that own new bikes with no issues , only heard of complaints from this forum. I would recommend a 07 they really did make some real nice upgrades with these bikes. I am very happy with mine.

You're forgetting the sharp whine in 5th. But it ain't really a problem, just annoying kinda. And not everyone has it.... Regardless I'd buy the same bike again. You'll love it!

good luck

I think the problems were few to begin with, it's just that everyone that had problems were talking about them. I know of 2 dozen people or more that got 07 ranging from early to later builds and none of them have issues at all.

Purchased an 07 Electra Glide Classic in October - great ride. My first Harley - my problem now is 2 feet of snow and 15 degrees in upstate NY. Can't wait until spring.

Had the dealer install cruise control (thought it would be a must for touring), detachable tour pack brackets and detachable passenger back rest for when the tour pack isn't on.

Will be installing - Hog Tunes speakers, HD adjustable rider back reset, PCIII , HD SE air cleaner, HD custom painted horn cover (flag)and mufflers modified by Fullsac.

Bought my Electa Glide Classic the first week in Aug. and have not had any problems. There is a little whine in 5th but wouldn't call it a problem. Go for it, the best move I have made with a motorcycle.
