I bought and installed a pair of JES wind deflectors on my 09 Ultra Classic this past summer and have noticed something. I'm smelling exhaust once in a while.
I'm thinking that the fork deflectors are changing the air flow around the mufflers. Yes, I've checked for exhaust leaks and all clamps are tight.
I'm tempted to take them off and see if it goes away.
I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this? ... or am I crazy.
I also installed the kuryakyn deflectors and noticed that as well under the right conditions I think it creates a good bubble around the bike had more good rides with, than the few smells mine stays on
Have you got rid of the cat out of your header pipes yet? more reason to do it.
I have noticed alot of fumes on mine I still have cat, mainly when stationary though.
Looking forward to ditching the cat just got to get some free time to do it.
I just took my fork deflectors off to have them powder coated matt black.
They go back on tomorrow.
You're probably right..
I had an empty soda can while riding at 60 mph. sitting between my legs..
It got loose and floated in front of me for about 15 seconds from the low pressure area the windscreen was producing..
I put my feet on top of the crash bar and it pulls the heat up very fast also
Once in a blue moon i smell exhaust, guess depends on the speed
