I had an HD ESP on my 05 Ultra that I purchased used. Within 1500 of purchase the cam chain tensioners failed...Then the rear exhuast pipe blew a hole in it, then the stator failed, then the tour pak luggage rack broke, then the regulator failed, and got 3 tires under the tire and wheel coverage. Oh and complete engine, trans and primary reseal!!! The ESP paid out 3 times what I paid for the contract!!!
Did I purchase an ESP on my 2012 Ultra Limited....You bet your sweet bippy!!!

Your last name isn't Murphy by any chance..LOL...That's some bad luck there....
Personally, I don't ever buy extended warranties and have an extra 10 grand in my bank account because of it...The extended warranty is not even by HD...it's a third party...Oh, if you change anything, it can void your warranty (do a search on this), THEY OVERLAP YOUR FACTORY WARRANTY BY 2 YEARS NO MATTER WHAT, SO THAT MEANS YOU ARE PAYING FOR YOUR FACTORY WARRANTY...If you know someone who works in professional sales, ask them what the deal is on extended warranties...I use some of my 10 grand saved to fix it on occasion and my indept. mechanic is VERY easy on my pocket book. Put that money in the bank and sit on it. If you never use it, buy beer...LOL.

Wow, 10K for an extended warranty............................
I refused the ESP when I bought my brand new 09 Ultra. By the time my factory warranty was about to expire I realized how much warranty work had been done on it. My 2 yr old bike had 40k miles on it and that meant I was going to take a real beating on a trade in. Because I wasn't planning on riding any less in the future and because I'll have to ride this one til the wheels fall off prompted me to purchased the 7 yr (5 after oem warranty) ESP with tire and wheel coverage. The ESP has more than paid for itself in the first 2 yrs. That's not all good because it means the bike's been in the shop so much.
It sucks to be without a bike while it's in the shop but to have to pay out of pocket for repairs at the same time really sucks. The $50 deductible makes it a non issue.
When we go on a long trip and we're far from home, having ESP makes me feel like our vacation probably won't be totally ruined because of a breakdown.
I think most HD Touring bikes are well built quality machines and quite reliable. If I hadn't had so many problems during factory warranty, I wouldn't have bought the ESP.
Sort of lost your cred there. $35000 min for a CVO and another $1500 would break you?
LMAO nope sure wouldn't. But if it isn't necessary regardless of whether you have 8000000000 dollars or 8 dollars why do it? For example, I could use it toward my D & D fatcat exhaust.
We were offered, took the stealer up on extending to four years but on the cheap end. Should have done the full show as at 2600 miles rear tire ate a screw, would have been covered no questions per the repairing stealer, would have been almost paid for with the cost to replace the tire.
