Yep only 2 wires to connect. I would recommend soldering the wires instead of using the supplied connectors. The first time I used the connectors but the ground was bad so I took the fairing off then soldered the wires like I should have done the first time. The Ipod connector cord that came with my kit was long enough to go into my right side saddleback.
Not worried about that. I have watertight connectors and all the crimp tools to make any connector I need, so I will just go that route. Thanks for the feedback,.
I did the iron cross interface, customer service is unbelievably great and product is solid, I did run two lines from battery to unit direct with a fuse on power , used the spade connection and no hacking into the harness.. did this on my 2012 Limited,, works great!!
I have this bike. Why are you deviating from makers install steps?
I've read IC info, it's $50 less than HD. Is it easier?better? To be honest, I've got for saving cash if I can but 50 bucks.......? I want the best unit for my Ultra that's under $250. Best means ease of install along with sound quality.
BUYER BEWARE ! If you have trouble, On the move technologys will not respond back to you. Your on your own. I have tried and tried and they replied back once promising to make things right and have never heard back again. Will not endorse this company......
I promised them in my latest attempt that I would contact every forum I could find if they didn't at least reply back. So here I am...
It plugs into lighter which I dont use. Just find an used FM area and setup a radio preset button. Find one that the cradle has opening for the Ipod to rest in. Most come with various blanks for the different types over the years. Good snug fit that wont rattle loose and the flexible neck can be tied to bars to stay clear of tank on full turn left. the otmt unit is the same one sold by iron cross. if you didn't buy it from them, but it's the same one, you might try contact iron cross to see if they can help you get in touch with the mfg.....
I bought 3 units from Iron Cross Audio. One for me and 2 others I installed for my buddys. No problems with any of them, and they gave me a great deal.
I had the aftermarket one installed on my ultra and it wouldn't work, it was defective out of the box. We then put in the hd version and it worked great. I read afterwards a lot of complaints regarding the aftermarket set up. I would just get the hd version and call it a day.
