Hello all...Best forum around..Looking for big/rideable torque from my 07 SGlide..Any comments/thoughts on a 96 to a big bore 103 / htcc ported / htcc stoker pistons / maybe 211 cam set up? Will the ported heads really be worth it? Would like to stick to Harley parts...since the dealers "giving" parts away for 20% Off Next weekend!! Thanks to all for the help.....
First of all, if you're going with thet HTCC you DO NOT want the ported ones for low end TQ.
I am a long time experienced engine builder & I have used both versions of the HTCC setup. Both versions can make serious power, but only if any experienced engine builder does the work(& I don't mean the wrench in your local Harley dealer).
There are some steps to building an HTCC screamer that cannot be overlooked such as adjusting the quench setting perfectly, CCing the heads for compression etc.
I built my existing bagger to have a TON of useable TQ. I built a 95" high compression motor & sent the heads to Underground Performance. Using that setup & Bob Woods cams the thing damn nears pulls my arms off in the low end.
By the way, standard SE heads at 20% off are a great deal & can perform very very well(& you can sell the existing heads on ebay for a good chunk of the cost)

I agree with John. The HTCC setups rarely reach thier potential because they are difficult to setup properly. Even though they are called "High Torque CC", 9 times outa 10 you will see them with much higher HP numbers than torque.... and that's not what you're after.
Before you feel "pressured" into buying something because "it's on sale", do some homework. Heck you can by any of the S/E line products for 22% off @ Zanotti EVERY DAY!
Regarding bolt-on BigBore kits.... Take a look at Head-Quarters.com and GMR Performace. THey both have really sweet bolt-on 107" kits that will flat BLOW the HD kits AWAY, and they do make the good low-end torque you're looking for!
Thanks everybody......Just one of those "warranty" freaks....I was going to run the stroker htcc pistons....But Ive been eyeing big time the 107 kit from GMR.....I should just go all out..07 SGlide 2400 miles.......Any builders care to tell this guy any additonal items to look at in addition to the 107? Thanks ...RJ
