I have a 2010 ultra classic and it has a 6.5" wind splitter and it hits me right in the helmet and bounces my head around. (I wear a full face helmet) Any recommendations for a good windshield? I am 5'9" by the way.
Check us out www.FastAire.com
We have multiple windshield sizes & tints available.
Based on your description, Id say an 7 or 8 inch Aero windshield would work nicely.
If I can help out, give me a call.
I have a few Fast Aire shields along with several LRS's also. Both make quality stuff. And in either case, you probably won't regret going with a recurve model.
I'm 5'6" and use a LRS recurve 6" and it goes right over the top of my helmet for reference. I wear a half most of the time but I don't think that should matter.
I'm 5'9" and have a 8" long ride shield. I have yet to find a better shield. Customer service is excellent too. I cracked mine by over tightening the screws and they sent me a replacement for free. Didn't even have to pay return shipping. Hard to beat that for something that was my fault.

I just bought a 10 inch Aero Dark Gray from Jim, aka Fast Aire.
Lookin' forward to it.
Most of the time when I was running Sundowner seats a 9 inch recurve /flip was fine, but now that I am running a Hammock it sits me up about an inch higher so, (which would put me at about the heighth of an Ultra) I'm going with an inch taller windshield. BTW, I'm 5'10" so a 9 may be just fine for you. FWIW.
