all the batteries mentioned (except odyesy) ARE MADE IN THE SAME PLANT ON THE SAME LINE. batteries plus, batterymart.com, even pep boys ,same damm battery but IF u feel the hd logo on the side makes it last longer then go ahead and throw some $ away.
It's probably a battery tender lead. It is more than likely a 7.5 amp fuse.
Ummm,,,, ya,, I did put an extra digit in that number,,, kinda hard to need a 70A fuse when the battery MAYBE does 25 or 30a,,, LOL.. So a brand new bike comes WITH the battery tender lead already? I bought it with like 8 miles on it...

A lot of good info and opinions. I fully agree it should be a spec and experience driven buying decision. Does anyone actually know what the specs. (CCA, AH, etc.) are for an OEM HD Ultra battery?

I just had my battery tested at the dealer and they said my battery had around 250 CCA(it's 3 years old)..they took an off the shelf battery and it showed around 550 CCAs..

So is the Chevy Equinox And Chevy Impala. Are they the same car????? Maybe not!
I find it amazing that there are still people on the forum who believe that because Deka makes the batteries for HD you might as well buy a Deka branded battery because they think that they are therefor the exact same battery but with a different sticker on them.
My 6 year old HD battery started to show signs of failing, slower cranking, low voltage. I bought a new HD battery at my dealer. I happened to stop at my local auto parts store on my way home and saw a DEKA banner in their window. I had them get a DEKA battery for my bike and compared the specs with the HD battery. It is the EXACT same battery in size, specs, everything except for the HD logo stamped on the side. I promptly went back to the HD dealer and returned the battery I just bought and kept the DEKA. Saved myself $70.00. believe what you want but the DEKA branded battery is the EXACT same battery as the HD one.
Do you really think that DEKA is going to run a separate line just for HD batteries ?
