Default Chrome Plating Question

I've been looking for Chrome Rims and man..they are expensive. I was wondering if anyone has experience with getting something Chrome Plated? I was thinking it may be cheaper to have my wheels Chromed at a local Plating Company.

Does anyone know?

About 20 years ago I had a Fat Boy rear wheel plated by Browns in Paduca, Ky. It was expensive. Add to that the down time involved & buying already done wheels might be worth it. That being said, I'm sure prices have changed over the years. You have to find a really good plater, & changing tires becomes a project because you have to either find someone that won't scratch the chrome, or do it yourself.

There are quite a few places who offer chrome exchange. Brown's is one of the top platers in the country and will alwyas be expensive. Check out ***** Shiny. http://www.willyshiny.com/

Had a caliper chromed by these guys, next door neighbor had forks, good work. They list a service center in FL. Lists wheels chromed for tourer at $575.00

+1 on ***** Shiney. I have three of them with the optional rear billet hub caps on the rears. One rear wheel started to peel, I sent photos to Joe the owner. He shipped a replacement at N/C to me including the shipping both ways. Now that's great customer service!
