hi all, first post on this site having owned harleys since the age of 27. i am interested in tyre choices for my 2007 flhtcu. currently on d204 dunlops. most riding is two up, fully loaded touring europe so some highish temperatures but
also lots of rain. slow speed on current tyres is crap, tracking also is very noticeable. suggestions and experiences please, metzelers look good but how about avons?? any contributions greatly appreciated. all the best, rod.
Welcome aboard. You'll get plenty of opinions regarding tires. I've always went with Avons. Venoms on the dyna and will put Cobras on the RG in the spring.

i have an 07 ride 2 up 90%,402 is the last tire i would choose.went to dunlop elite 3 great tire .then went to metzlers good tire,i will be going back to the e3.havent used the others but after lots of reading here the others seem to be softer compound, good for traction but not milage,i have no complaints with the traction of the e3. i got 15000 out of the e3.
Hello old chap and welcome to HDF from just down the road. Drove through Bicester only this afternoon!
Avons. They have recently introduced Cobras to replace the Venoms I have used for many years. We've been to Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and many others, sometimes in the most appalling weather. British tyres for riding our American bikes around Europe. They are the only way to travel!
