Default Help! Slider problem

I purchased chrome slider from EBay. They said it would fit FLHTC 2000-2010. So while I was installing today, I found my axle on my 01 FLHTC is too big and not just a little a lot. I contacted the shop from where I bought them and told basically they are all the same. Can Someone please help?

Thanks

Do you have a HD catalog?? Look in it for fitment info.I'm looking at page 404 of the 2013 catalog.

Buy a new axle and bearings? Or return your forks and get the right ones. Shame that they don't know the fitment of the product they sell.

Damn Brother, you can't catch a break can you. The late model axles are 25mm, while your 01 is 1". They are wrong, they are not interchangeable from 2000-2010, the axle size is different, sorry you are having such a time. You could change wheel bearings and axle, or send 'em back.

I know for a fact they 07 -08 sliders are the same. I put a 25mm axle in my 07 ultra classic and it fit fine. I'm pretty sure the older ones are 3/4 inch not 1 inch and that might be your problem.

Sliders are screwed up. The axle is only different in size where they slide into the bearings. Not at the opening of the sliders. With that said, both 25mm & 1" axles ate the exact same size at both ends. Only differ in size in the middle of the axle.

P&A catalog has different #s for 00-07, and 08 up, so there must be something different.

Thanks everyone for the response and help! After a nights sleep, I walk out and looked at the situation again, and it hit me like a sledge hammer! The axle doesn't fit when you try and install it from the wrong side! Geez, I feel like a total idiot! A couple of things I just learned, first, use the Service Manaul, which I didn't have because I loaned it to my friend. 2; After a week goes by from when I took it apart to when I started putting it back together, you may forget somethings, use your service manaul, and 3; at the end of a day working on the bike you get tired, or maybe it was the beers, use the service manual!

Thanks again for all the help.
