LED's are almost invisible during the day if you look at them from much of an angle. After having all LED lighting(HD) and having numreous close calls from cars not seeing me when pulling out from a sideroad,I now run stock lighting with PIAA bulb.
LED's are definitely great at night, but if you want better daytime visibility they didn't justify the expense IMO
Ineresting...these last two posts present an opinion/perspective I have not previouly heard but I will look into further before pulling the trigger.

I disagree, the Hd spots throw a nice wide beam. I adjusted them slightly higher than spec,no problem being seen.Did the same for the rear end,i put a light with a convex lense/housing that is super bright (post#18).

I have not yet done the spots, but have to agree about the TruckLite LED headlamp, in the daytime you can't even tell it is one unless you are at the right angle.
I am satisfied with my headlights and auxiliary lights, but one of my first mods was swapping out the wimpy taillight and turn signals for HD LED's which are great and greatly increase visibility from the rear. Another member posted this photo (I did the labels). Note how the LED's although further away, are far brighter than the closer standard set up.
Can you just add LED lights to exsisting housing for running/turnsignal lights from and back?
Short Answer is Yes. Not sure about HD LED's, but with any other LED you'll need to add a load equalizer for them to work right with the stock electrical system. I used the Custom Dynamics running/turn/brake units along with their load equalizer. I was turned on to a load equalizer by Biketronics that doesn't require a connection to the battery and members have sworn by them for years. If I was going to do it, I'd get the Biketronics plug and play version, but still love the CD units. There's some posts about comparing various units other than HD. I wrote one back in about March of this year with some additional pictures if you want to look it up. Best single safety investment I've done, and gets used every single time I ride.
