I was turned on to a load equalizer by Biketronics that doesn't require a connection to the battery and members have sworn by them for years. If I was going to do it, I'd get the Biketronics plug and play version, but still love the CD units. There's some posts about comparing various units other than HD. I wrote one back in about March of this year with some additional pictures if you want to look it up. Best single safety investment I've done, and gets used every single time I ride.
No load equalizer needed for HD LED tail and running/turn/brake lights for the rear. They are plug and play.

Default LED Headlights

I purchased the LED headlights and driving lights with the bike. I had had the regular headlight and running lights on a previous bike, so I can compare. There is a little bit of a learning curve to the LEDs. They are very bright and you can really see down the road. You can also see very well in the bar ditches to either side. This is all really great for riding down the road at night. I can see signs light up over a mile away on high beam, and feel like I have better illumination of the sides of the roads looking for deer and other animal dangers.

However, the lights have a definite pattern I like to refer to as a 'watermelon' slice. This pattern is nearly flat on top and greatly reduces glare to other vehicles on the road. But the problem comes when you roll into a turn. The light pattern leans with the bike and you virtually loose the road on the inside of your turn. This is quite unnerving at first. Well, actually it's still unnerving after 7 months with the bike. I do not ride the twisties and turnies at night with this system. Probably shouldn't anyway. I have trained myself to really pay attention to the road surface and ditches before rolling into a curve as much as possible. I also slow way down at night on other than a straight road or interstate in order to reduce the lean angle. But with these lights, I feel much better riding fast at night when there is nothing other than slight bends or turns such as the interstate.

Hope this helps.

I switched to all LED's last year....best decision I could have made. Put Kuryakin front/rear turn signals and run/brake light, and their ("Truck Light") headlight and passing lamps. Also added a brake/turn lightbar on tour pak from Ride Time Technology. You can seem me coming and stopping much better day and night.....lots of positive comments from bikers and cagers alike.

I also have ALL LED lights, HD Daymaker, BAL Tail Lamp, Custom Dynamics signals and Motolights with HiOutput LEDs, makes a hell of a difference and all are worth every penny IMHO.

I say save some money and buy your stuff from custom dynamics for everything but your headlight. Get the led head light from truck lite (phase 7). That way you still have leftover money.

I love LEDS, now I'm upgrading my new bike, of course I'm putting LED's all around.
I'm gonna have to break down and pay the $500 for the Harley headlight, I feel ripped, but my driving lights are harley, so I want the match.
Boyz, I'm looking for an LED tailight for the bottom rear fender for a Streetglide.
I've looked, havn't seen much out there.
Looking for post with those LEDS for the Streetglide.
