Default 2011 Electra Glide Rack Options

I just bought a 2011 Electra Glide Classic. I chose this model primarily because I wanted my wife to have great comfort on rides. I planned on removing the backrest and bag to give it a Street Glide look for me when riding solo. I went to a dealership the other day and was quoted $1500 for the conversion to a quick disconnect. That seems really high! Does anyone have suggestions for what options I might have? Thanks John

Buy the parts and do it yourself! Not hard to do. My little brother has a '12 EGC and we did it to his bike in about an hour. Total for parts was about $900 but he also got the quick detatch sissy bar and back rest.

Or unbolt it all and get some SG/RK frame covers. Takes me about 15 minutes to change back and forth.

Man ...1500 is a lot of dollars unless you are taking it on and off on a weekly basis.I didn't go with the QD because I don't like the tag bracket and the mounting tabs for the tour pak.But if you are mounting a backrest, the QD is the way to go.

I would not even go to the store with out my trunk as it is just to convenient.
Best place I found to keep my helmet to keep it mine.
