Default Speed Bleeders

Hello All,

Quick questions: for those of you that have intalled Speed Bleeders, do you use thread seal or not. Also, I noticed in my service manual that there is an o-ring that should be removed/discarded, as it's only used during the manufacturing process. Just wanted to verify this. Thanks in advance.

They have some kinda sealant on them. At least the ones I used did. I didn't like it cause it was pretty hard and wouldn't start. So I took it off and used my own. They work great! Don't know about any o-ring

Yes, you throw the o ring away if it's present. As I recall, mine had the thread sealer/binder on them also and they started and screwed in OK.

Mine all came with the sealant on the threads. No problem install. No O ring either. I purchased them at Advanced Auto. 4 for 20 bucks when I went to the store.

Yes. Mine came with blue thread sealer BUT one of them had a stuck check ball and I got air in the caliper when I bled them the first time. Just make sure your check ball is working properly before you bleed brakes. fwiw.

Wow, that's a heck of a lot cheaper than what I ended up paying for my stainless Speed Bleeders. Guess this is not the "Speed Bleeder" brand, but it sure looks identical.

Either way, they are a heck of a product and the only way to go when bleeding brakes IMHO.

Napa carries them also under their own name. I paid $6.00 for a 2 pack.
