I loved my ultra with the pack off, I hate that I damn near have a place to put the things I need at work. So it goes on and stays on but maybe I'll do the quick disconnect over the holidays.
Mine are currently coiled under the seat. I am waiting for some Deutsch connectors so that I can disconnect under the seat instead of inside the tourpak, then the wires and cables will go with the tourpak.
Just an FYI...if you do NOT want to do the dis-connections under the seat, you will have a tough time removing the Tour Pak as it is impossible to remove the seat first then the Tour Pak then the wired connections coming from the Tour Pak. Better put the disconnect plug right beneath the Tour Pak so that once it disconnected you can remove the Tour Pak much more easily..without ever removing the seat......I know found out the hard way.
I spent the $550 at the stealer for the quick detach kit for my 12 Classic. Handier than hell, being it's on and off 50% of the time, each. I noticed the Moco even designed a garage wall hanger for us so it doesn't set on the work bench and run the risk of scratches.
Nice of em to design a $150 bracket aye?
They are just looking out for our best interest.....
I removed the seat, removed liner from tourpak, unplugged the wire connectors and antenna connectors that were under the liner, passed the wires out through holes, coiled them under the seat, removed 4 bolts in bottom of tourpak, lifted it off, put seat back on. Really nothing to it, took less than 10 minutes.
Thanks Guzz. That's some go info right there! Just ordered mine! And as far as what you will need to take apart, there not a lot really... Remove seat and saddle bags, remove your tourpak liner unplug the speakers unplug the tourpak wiring harnesses and antennas and pull all the wires free of the tourpak. Remove the 4 bolts form he inside of the pak and lift the tourpak from its mount, now just remove the mount from the bike.. if I remember right 2 or 3 bolt per side. Done. It's really not hard at all took like 15-20 mins tops! For some reason I can't post a link but check out my thread " surgery on the ultra limited begins". I have some pics of the process posted there!
