When I remove my TP I tape over the ends of the connectors and wrap them around the control modules under each relevant side cover.
Keeps them from possibly scratching the rear fender or crushing from seat pressure (if any).
They get dirty but it's just a wipe down with a damp rag and the connectors are dry and clean.

So your antenna comes off in the process and you lose your radio?

You can relocate the antennas or do what I did and put the hidden ones in the fairing

Sounds easy to remove, but how long does it take to put back on, and is the reinstall difficult? The reason I ask is because no more than I would have it off, I don't know if it would justify spending the $$ for the docking kit.

See last post, read it backwards. 4 bolts to take out or put in, some wires to plug or unplug, seat off, seat on.

The docking kit IS expensive. I am getting it because I expect that mine will come on and off fairly often. Also, I don't the look of the stock tourpak rack hanging there when the tourpak is off. But the kit is not a necessity.

I place my wire harness in left saddlebag when pack is removed. The lid gasket will not harm the wires or bag. With the quick detach kit. ---- I can remove tour pack and install my street glide seat and both antennas in 12 minutes. It takes 10 minutes to reinstall to factory look.... You will want to find you a street glide seat and signal light bar.

A Harley dealer quoted me $450 for the kit to make the Tour Pack into a detachable. They wanted $850 for the kit and have them install it wiring connectors and all.

I just added the kit and added the hidden antenna. Can you get the wiring tool anywhere ? I have that final connection to make to finish up.
