Hello, got my D&D Fat Cat loosely installed on my 2013 Limited. It was a tight fit getting the flanges on the studs but I finally got them on with a little force. The D&D instructions say to tighten everything from the front to the back but I searched, watched a few YouTube videos and they all say tighten from the back to front. Should I just follow the instructions and tighten front to back? I have also read of people loosening the transmission exhaust mounting bracket should I have done this? Any info and tips are appreciated.
The transmission to exhaust mount should be loose. Then follow the instructions for tightening the exhaust flanges in the service manual. It will have you tighten front to back. Then tighten the tranny bracket.
After you have the flanges on the studs, working from front to back alternate between the front and rear exhaust port studs to make sure you have a proper seal then tighten down the tranny mount and finally install the collector like it says make sure you use the proper spacers so it is aligned correctly.
Thanks, I tried the muffler without the spacers and it was not aligned straight. The spacers made it perfect. I will tighten everything up tomorrow front to back per the Harley instructions. D&D included the instructions for a sport bike system and that kinda threw me off. Thanks
I just ordered a boarzilla what do you mean when you say spacer?
There are some spacers that you may or may not need that come with the exhaust. You use them on the saddle bag support bracket to align the collector so that is sits straight. Apparently there were some changes over the years where that had to start including the spacers.

2 spacers that go under the saddlebags where you mount the mufflers. They are provided to help if you have alignment issues. I didn't use mine but I have 4 days off might just take the 10 mins to install them and see if I like the look better.

I also went back 3 times after riding it and letting it cool off and re-torqued the stud nuts on the flanges. Was able to snug them up a bit more first 2 times as it settled in the gaskets. 3rd time seemed nice and solid. I'll now go back and double check the muffler bolts, etc.
Make sure your on the proper side of the trany exhaust mount. I have installed 11 fatcat & bosszilla exhausts on 09 and up models. They have never required the spacers.
You dont need to change the crush washers on the o2 sensors.
