My 2000 RK started jumping in and out of 3rd. Very weird, almost like the compensator was overrunning? Tried adjusting with no luck. Pulled it apart and everything had alot of wear (tough life behind 95") so put revtec 6 speed gear set in. Really like the ratios in it compared to my '09.

Forgot to mention shifter forks, straight is critical- Stock forks in my '89 used powdered metal, compaction press and sintered technology. After many years of my abuse to the shifter they became bent. I purchased new form the dealership and the repalcements were forged iron.

I solved my slide in and out problem with new forks, replaced the drum detent and just for good measure added a Sputhe Pos-Shift. If you havent seen 1 it simple is a mechanism on the end of the shift drum that will only allow 1 gear change at a time and guarantees the detent is engaged in the drum.

I am in to full throttle shifting and stomping the crap out of the heel shifter, never missed a gear after installing the Sputhe Posi Shift.
