Ya'll gotta stay away from those Hi-pressure spray car wash's. Got 50K on My 08UC and the wheel bearings are fine.
Had to replace my bearings at 27,000 on my 09 Ultra. I have never used a power washer, but the dealer did! Found out from a friend at the dealer their wash guy was using a power washer. The bearings were full of water. It cost $50.00 since I had an extended waranty. I wrote the dealer and moco a nice letter and the wash guy was looking for a new job.

Never, Ever, let the dealer wash your bike! There is a reason that guy's job is washing bikes. I put an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper on the windshield saying Don't wash my bike. i don't rely on it being entered on the work order. Takes way too long to polish out the swirl marks from a rag used on umpteen bikes before mine. Never thought of a power washer issue but not surprised.
U know that nothing mechanical lasts very long with out Lubrication! Don't forget to check your wheel bearings when changing tires. And stay away from pressure washers. Looks pretty dry to me.
Many of you probably know this but I had to learn this the hard way. Racing motocross for decades I replaced a fair amount of wheel bearings. The seals on the bearings can be removed with a very thin pocket screwdriver. Just work underneath it and spin all the way around and comes out real easy. I would open brand new bearings (Quality bearings) like NTN or Nachi that had very little grease in them. I usually packed them with some marine grease and seemed to have much better success. This obviously wont resolve the single row design flaw but when I change my wheel bearings I always add grease. This might be a good reason to change your own bearings as I doubt the dealer techs are putting the extra effort to check the replacements. Rethy
you can also take that bearing down to Motion Industries or someplace similar and have them cross reference to get a better bearing.
Also this answers my question on how I am going to set up my bike when I get that 2010 SG front wheel for my bike. I will swap out and run the bearings for a 1" axle like is on my bike right now. Now I don't know if the ABS will prevent this but on all non-ABS bikes you should be able to swap and put the bearings in for the 1" axle and run that axle in your bike also.
Do a search...tons of bearing failures after 08...my rocker had the first failure at 6k...hd told me I washed the bike too much...liar, liar, pants on fire...Second failure 7k later...Second was a warranty failure which happened at 65 mph, almost made me crash ruined a trip and did 1200 bucks damage...upstanding hd (not...) told me I had to eat it...they fixed it and told me to never come back (not kidding...no problem there...I have independant mechanic with ethics at half the rate...he actually does everything you request and pay for...). ps they put the same carp bearings in . get them out and replace asap...
