I have one and love it, has a fuel gauge and gear indicator and clock you can turn off if you like, The color change is nice...I have mine set to blue so it matches my flush mount gauge.
I look at the display model every time I go into my local Harley dealer. Unfortunately I have an 02 Road King so that unit wont work for my model year! If it did I would have bought it! I like it much better than the Dakota Digital as i prefer analog gauges to digital.
I'm an old guy and I save my money for gas (more riding) motel rooms on trips, and tires and brakes. My Road King also had no tach and every bike I ever had before did have one. All of those had the instruments above the handle bars closer to the normal line of vision. I find the eye shift down to the tank and back to the road takes more time than I am comfortable with. Adding a second read-out would just tempt me to look down even more frequently. One reason I like cruise control is that once the speed is set, I don't need to look down so often. Shifting near the book recommended speeds has given me an "ear" and a feel for when to shift. Once I realized that the computer controlled machines have rpm limiters hopefully set at a conservative figure,I didn't worry about over revving any more. If it sounds like it revving higher than normal, I upshift. If it feels like it is lugging, I downshift.
Are you prone to obsess over small details? If the new tach says your engine is idling 50 rpm too high or too low, will it bug you? Without a tach, you'd never know and just be happy it is running approximately correctly. If this is something you have wanted from day one and now you can swing it, have at it. From my perspective, however, I'd rather put the money into something else.
Great investment. Super easy to set up and install. Looks great and the features are superb in one small but easy to read gauge. When I read the threads about this, I keep reading about how tight the gasket was. On my 2008 FLHRC I did not find this to be true. After the install I thought the gauge was a little loose because there was minimal play. I went to the dealer because I am **** about these things. Well the good news is all the bikes both new and used had the same if not more play. I was also told the fuel gauge on this gauge is more accurate than the stock one on the tank. Don't wait another minute get this now.

Install is a breeze
That looks great, just what I was looking for...Thanks for the pic.
