Thanks again, I found the Mothers kit for under 20 bucks so I will give that a try. The instructions make it sound very easy and it comes with everything you need.

You can try a 3M product called Finesse-it II. You will find it in a paint shop area of a good parts outlet. It's not cheep, but can be used by hand and is good for over-spray and bird **** marks. A little goes a long way.

I did that once, and a quick wipe with a soft cloth and a shot of brake clean took off the overspray and didn't hurt the underlying material at all.
And it was easy!

Try some mineral spirit on it, or some gas. It will take fresh latex paint right off.

I have did some reading and some sites say use the clay bar yearly, although I have not tried it yet. The mineral spirits may work as well. All of the methods suggested you will have to wax it after obviously. Good luck...

I was going to suggest some paint thinner and a soft clean rag. Wipe lightly and wash off with soap and water.

Another vote for the clay bar. It's easy, very low risk, and not time consuming. Should be able to do your tank, fenders, etc. in 15 minutes or less. You'll know if you're not keeping it wet enough, it will drag and leave some clay bar material behind. No worries though, just wet it and go over it again. Wipe down the clay-barred areas with detail spray when you're done, then go over it with your favorite wax. Should look like new. It's not a bad idea to use a clay bar once a year to remove contaminants from your paint and keep a smooth surface.

I just had to do the same thing. I ended up pulling my bags off and buffing out the lids and back of the bags with my power buffer. I'm sure clay would have done the job just fine, but I'm better with the buffer and the stages of compound and pads. Roll with the clay!
