I am tired of putting up with the discomfort of the stock bars. I have been looking for bars for a while. I have sat on as many bikes as I could and haven't found my soul mate. Well today I sat on a bike with 16" apes. It was perfect.Everything was in perfect position. Now the problem...........Not to offend anyone I will say it nicely.......Apes on a Road Kingdoes not look goodTO ME.
My wife saysit shouldn't matter how they look, it's how they feel. My question to you is:
Would you put something on your bike that you think is ugly eventhough it feels good?
I myself started out with beach bars....gone
next went to rkc bars..... gone
then went to heritage soft tail "baby apes" 8".. kept for quite a while $40.00 highly recommend, also stock on police bikes.
just put on 20" apes, was skeptical at first, but mannn does it feel nice. great for posture.
I am not telling you this is what 'cha gotta do. What i'm saying is that bars are cheap have a little fun. Just think how many hat racks you'll have when you are done.
Bars are cheap? How do you figure that? Especially when you start adding cable length, risers, riser covers, running the wire inside. Most bars that I like start at $199.99. You can easily get to $500.
Starting out with the flhrsi cables they will accommodate most bars with a rise upto 8". what was taught to me was to start out with cheap bars , knock offs are fine, until you find one you like. then go ahead get the fancy model. I think you can take any 3-5 bikers and you got a dozen bars between them
