I know the stock mufflers are designed to push the exhaust through the right side. Are there certain years of CVO mufflers that flow equal and have no cat's inside them? I know there's the Full sac option but I want to keep the costs down.

You ask does any of the cvo mufflers have no cats? Well i know the 2010 and up dont have cats in the mufflers. Just baffles. I removed mine and installed the 2" full sac baffles and it made a good improvement over stock. But still mellow. Thought it would have been much louder. Me and my neighbors like them.

Yup, that's what I was meaning. So 2010 + CVO mufflers would be the ones to look for then. Thanks

You can get any muffler from 2006 to newer and they will fit your bike just fine. I got a set of 2007 CVO slipons from ebay for $60 brand new. Know what the difference was between them and the 2008 and newer mufflers was? The solid chrome end caps and the ones I bought had cats built in. Guess what I did with the extra $100-200 I saved from buying the 07 instead of the 2012? I bought some 2011 end caps on ebay for $50 and a chisel for about $5 and punched the catalytic cores out of the muffler and slid the end caps on. All told I think I spent MAYBE $150. Didnt even bother with the fullsac baffles because the bike isnt as loud as I thought it would be with a gutted muffler and the cobra powerport head pipes. You know what year pipes folks think are on my bike? 2011s but in reality they are 2007 with the 2011 tips. If you want pics, just ask and I can show you. If you want to spend $2-300 for some "newer" slipons and all you are getting different is the black end cap, go ahead. Its your money. If i could do it all over again, I would.

I'd wondered the same, but the 2011 CVO mufflers I installed appear to both flow equally.

Excellent advice, not loud is good. I'd love to hear them in person since I'm getting tired of buying and trying other used mufflers.

They are a little louder than the standard vance and hines slip ons but its not obnoxious, at least not to me. I wish I could post a sound bite from the bike while its running but im at work and the bike is at home. All i can say is that its loud as hell when it first cranks up but after warm up it quiets down considerably. All i have on the bike is the SE Heavy breather, cobra powerport head pipe and gutted CVO slip ons. No baffles or anything, basically a straight thru exhaust from head all the way back.
