This summer I purchased and 2012 H-D FLTRX, Road Glide Custom. I have had the dealer install the Harley lowered front springs and I gained about a 1 1/8" drop in the form from them. I also have the reduced reach seat and 2" heels on my riding boots. My issue is that with it's current set up I can just touch flatfooted with my legs fully extended and straight down. Under normal conditions it is not a problem, but in uneven road condition or when my wife decides to shift her weight while stopped and I have to leg press the bike back up it gets a bit unnerving.
My question is how much of a drop will I gain by using the lowered shocks and will have clearance issues with the rear wheel and tire with the fender/wiring. Also I have the 18" Agitator rear wheel with the recommended Dunlop low-pro tire.
Give a look at bitchinbaggers.com They can hook you up with some lower shocks at a decent price. I ordered a set for my Street Glide last week to drop it an additional 1.5 inches, just waiting on the big Brown truck to show up now.
I will check them out, thanks for the advice. I think I am also going to experiment with some other seats. Not only do I hug the tank with the reduced reach seat it is also very uncomfortable.
