Need Help ID'ing Electrical component

I'm thinking either a remote garage door opener or maybe a proximity sensor for the alarm system??? Does the light blink all the time or only when you're close to the bike? Does it blink at a steady rate or does it vary?
What wires does it hook into in the factory harness?

The red light seems to be random but it also blinks without any movement of the bike or device
Hopefully this weekend I can trace the wires to see where they are going. Unfortunetly I'm going to have to open up the main bundle as its taped up pretty good
