Default Where to mount Gerbings controller?

I'm planning to install the flush panel mount connector in the mid frame air deflector and I also want to install the built in controller somewhere on the bike. The inner fairing makes sense because I need to be able to see it and reach it but I'm having a hard time figuring out the best spot to drill for the installation. Has anyone done this? Any advice would be appreciated.

I was thinking I might try mounting it in the door of the left lower fairing. Not sure how handy it would be to adjust though.

The lower fairing should be handy enough. I don't think you will be reaching down there all that often. Beats drilling holes in the inner batwing

That's where I put mine, it works out well. I have it velcro'd to the door. Just remember to attach the lanyard securely to the lower fairing. This setup is easily accessed while riding. ndfrspd

I also am thinking of hard wiring the controller. I mounted the plug in the heat deflecter but not happy with where I did it. If I had to do it over again, I would mount it where I have the piece of white tape in the photo. Was Also thinking of mounting controller in lower fairing next to the door or on it.

For what its worth and to make it simple. I just stick the controller in between the front of the seat and the tank console right in front of the boys. I tape the female plugs to each side of the controller pointing upward to be able to plug in the clothing. It's portable, out of the way and in easy reach. Been doing this for a few years and it is the best solution in my opinoin. Yours may vary........

I placed two controllers in the hole behind the rider- where the rider backrest goes. I don't use the backrest and the hole is the perfect size for the two controllers. My wife's controller plug fits there as well. I ran the wiring for my controller under the seat to the front. When riding solo, I can reach around behind me to adjust with my left hand. When the OL is on board, she adjusts for me.
