Default Pro's and Cons and opinions on stretched bags

This may have been discussed before but i couldnt find it so here we go...

I am looking to stretch my bags on my 2010 road king and i know the look i want that aint really the problem.

I want to know how these bags affect ride in the different lengths. I dont want to turn my bike into a trailer queen i def ride

so i want the full draped look dont even want to see my rear tire at all... how much does this effect cornering and ride? do i need to modify suspension to get this look or to keep from ruining the bags..

also open to pics of ur bags and what model and where u got ur bags and enders from as i am shopping around

Talking Bag Sizes

One thing to think about is how much/aggressive you ride. The longer the bags, the less cornering your going to be doing. My recommendation is that you go with a 3" stretch, 4" at the most. That way you can still ride pretty agressive and the bags cover the rear tire. Once I get all my pennies collected from the couch, I'll be putting 3" bags on. Then, I'll be putting air ride on ( take a peek at legend air suspension for those - Great Product!!) so once your parked, you can just slam the bike and your rear tire is covered!!

Bag prefference - Top Shop!! Quality bags and they just came out with a bunch of new designs!! They have videos on facebook of people standing on their stretched fender and the dont budge so they're pretty tough!!

I speak from experience on this stuff b/c I've built a couple baggers and my last one was a 2010 road glide!!

Good luck with your search and if you have any questions...shoot away!!!

One thing that may help you achieve your look, at least when its parked, is an air ride set up. Put that thing on the ground when you aren't on it!

the full stretch bags need an air ride to compliment them

i have 3" stretch with 13" air shocks and mine rub. long bags means slower corners

I got the CVO bags from Eastern Performance. 1"-3" stretch. I had wanted 4", but the way I like to corner...

If you like to corner, don't do it. Here is my old RG Ness did for me back in '99. It is pretty high and ya can see the paint cleaned off the bottom of the bags. Never again!

To me, they would sacrifice ride quality. I ride pretty aggressive constantly scrapping my floorboards in corners, so I know stretched bags would scrape. I'd rather have function over the good looks of stretched bags.

I'm aggressive rider so I went with 4.5" TopShop Viper cut bags so I won't scrape. Just finished mock fitting them and the rear fender.
