Default Tour Pack Fitment Questions

I have a older tour pack that i want to mount on a 2010 Street Glide,The tour pack came off a 2006 Electra Glide Classic, My Street Glide has the 4 point docking hardware on the bike, I am not sure if i can use the newer quick detachable mounting bracket on the tour pack without some kind of jury rigged mounting?

42 viewers, and yet no answer...

I would think the worst possibility would be re-drilling the old tour pack to match up with the new docking hardware IF the existing holes don't line up.

The holes don't line up, I am going to retrofit one as well but have not started yet.

If you are wondering how hard it is to fill in the old holes...

You could use Bondo-Hair Long Strand Fiberglass Body Filler. Just tape over the hole inside the pack, then cut the hole through the tape. Next Tape over the outer side of the hole(s) and leave intact. Fill from the inside, and let it cure. Then you only need to do a little finish work.

I have an old tour pack that the previous owner had filled holes with nothing more than black silicone gasket sealer. It adhered pretty well, as it was not easy to remove. Just clean the existing hole with degreaser or just light sanding inside the hole first. Then tape as stated above, and fill with the gasket sealer.

Try to set tour pack as far back as you can to give the passenger as much room as possible. When you drill holes make sure that you take off steel plate so you dont cut any of the wires between plate and bottom of pack.Filling holes with some silicone is a good idea though you can also get plugs at most hardware stores, but if still have to paint then fiber fill and be done with it.Good Luck...Lets see some pics when done!!! :-)
