Default 1st ride after back surgery..

2 months and 4 days since major back surgery (replaced 2 disks and other stuff, screws, spacers, cadaver bone etc.) (7 hours on operating table).... BUT... today, I hopped aboard the road king and rode it around the neighborhood (a couple of miles). Battery tender had been on for 2 months and she started right up without hesitation. I felt safer today than I did in the weeks before surgery. If I can do this at 71, there's hope for all of us.

Me too. But I chose not to ride it as it was winter last year when I had my surgery. However, it was so warm and nice I almost broke down to ride. But I waited till spring but no issues and it actually doesn't hurt to ride anymore. I am 51.

CONGRATS! Three back surgeries here (retired heavy highway constr) + exersize is the key to stayin mobile. PITA, but well worth the ability to ride as many miles as you desire.

Right on!!! Been there myself. I would suggest getting a good seat with a backrest as that makes a world of difference for me. Good luck!!
