I'd be very Leary of those cheap molded Chinese plastic ones shaking around in the fairing. Dragonfly, Arc & Throttle up make quality pieces that won't fall apart.

I used these. They work fine. I wish the plastic was a little beefier so they would not flex, but once mounted they are solid. I also took a little dynamat type material and sealed the edges (Old trick I learned from my car stereo days) just to keep any rattle to a minimum and keep the air from escaping from the sides

I did see them when I was hunting for speaker stuff. I decided to use the solid ones provided by dragonfly only because the Rockford T3652s speakers have a huge magnet, and are heavy.

I don't see a problem using the less expensive rings, just be sure to use locktite if you use little nuts and bolts to mount the speakers to the rings.

It all depends on the end result desired, I'm sure they will they hold aspeaker. Although doesn’t sound like a great mounting surface according to"kitehog"

The Dragonfly Rings, and the Arc (copied from Dragonfly) have a conicalshape which forces the sound through the hole. Putting a flat surface right infront of the speaker will create the sound waves in that area to bounce back, and cancel out the sound wave that is being produced.

They also don't look like they will allow you to use the speaker support bracket which is extremely critical.

With you HD forum discount the Dragonfly rings are 36.00
