Front end wiggles when no hands on bars
A friend has one , and that is what we did , and it worked perfect, and it has been that way for about 2 years now.
My mechanic is an HD tech and owns the same bike as I have, when I had him go into it, I told him extra tight, he told me shut up, his is also tighter than spec via the swing test!!! Since that day, no more wiggle, at decel around 42 mph...
I don't even recall any bad characteristics, rearing their ugly heads since then, I also did the 944UT shocks about the same time, the forks are my next area to try and improve.
As most have stated, the steering head shaft bearings are set too loose, it requires removal of inner fairing stuff to get to the actual nut, it is not the hex nut on top, but underneath is another nut with slots cut in it all the way around, in an RG it is deeper than the speedo/tach mount so if U do it yourself, get the maintenance manual from HD that shows the proceedure and pics if U can.
