I thought I wanted a SG for months - then I rode the RK and compared equipment and costs. For 2k more on the SG you get a batwing and radio, you don't get the spots, chrome trim, rear crash bar (I know there are other differences but these were the main ones for me). I wanted a removable windshield and the iconic Harley driving lights and liked the retro classic looks of the FLHR . I have no use for a radio or fairing although I did like the look of the SG. Bottom line is I got the color I wanted (Red Ember Sunglo) and saved 2k of my cash for other stuff, and am really happy with the King. Different strokes, all the touring bikes are great.

So far most of the post a telling you what they like and dislike!!!
Go to the shop sit on every bike they have the one that says take me home is the one for you...Ride it safe and enjoy knowing the bike picked you. The right one will talk to you if it don't go to another dealer and start again till it does

Im not sure sitting on them to make the decision, altho it should be a part of it, is the way to decide.
I have several different bikes and my SoftTail Delux, imo, is the nicest sitting as stock there is,except my wifes TG only cause I dont have to put my feet down, which is something to think about when you get old.

Oh, I've sat on them all many times. Both the SG and the RK are confortable for me. I've always been a Road King guy and that 110th Anniversary Road King seems to be calling my name. Wish Harley offered a better color selection in the SG.

I'm trying to understand why you wanted the SG at all.

The 110 anniversary RK has a lot of extras worth having and the chrome / black wheels look sharp. The 110 anni RK will be my next bike.

I think it was the look - and it did ride and sit good for my short self. But after riding the RK and really thinking about the way I ride the radio and batwing made no sense for me.

You keep using the initial "RG" when I assume you are talking about a Road King. Am I correct? The Road King would be "RK". "RG" would indicate are Road Glide.

There is good advice, you are the one who'll be riding it.

Sorry, you are right. I guess I'm so enthused about my Road KING that I can't type
