it is a carbed- rejetted with high flow air filter. 2001 electra glide. other comments i have received say it will be no problem to keep stock set up with upgraded cams. also what other adjustments will be reqiured to dial it in? rejetting ect.?
thanks
No problem leaving your carb/jetting the way it currently is with a Andrews tw21 cam.
I have virtually the same set-up as you are about to do. No hydraulic cam tensioner, just replaced old with a upgraded shoe. Added new lifters and adjustable push rods and was "good to go"
Really woke the bike up.... You'll be happy !
I have over 50k on my '03 and think I am about due for the 2nd set of shoes. The firast time I was surprised to find the shoes worn into the tensioners. Is there a new design shoe that does not require changing the oil pump? I'd like to have a plan for next time, before I open it up.
I will soon need to replace cam tensioners. I would like to upgrade cams to andrews 21 but I cannot afford to install the new hydraulic set up I know I will need adjustable push rods. are there any problems doing that? If so I will wait to upgrade cams until I can afford the hydraulic plate, ( I'd sure like to upgrade cams now) also the bike is carbed and rejetted. will any adjustments need to be made to the carb when upgrading the cams
thanks
Since you're willing to wait till the cash is available I'd suggest you spend the time studying cams to be sure you get the one you want, & go with gear drive. Might as well eliminate the chain drive all together.
