I disconnected my battery all the time with security and no problems. NOW, once I installed the SIREN, it's a different story. That's when you need to do the 'Ignition on (with FOB around), disconnect batter/remove fuse/whatever" and then the same thing when you reconnect power. If you try to do it without doing that, you're gonna get a loud and perhaps startling surprise. It makes no difference if you don't have a siren.

It worked well for me when I installed the battery tender connections.

- leave ignition ON
- reconnect the battery
- reconnect the fuse
- switch OFF ignition

You're done.
GREAT! NOW you tell me. When I changed the battery on my 09 RK, the alarm went off when I disconnected the battery! It only took seconds, but, what a racket while I was changing it!

I'm not positive but I thought the security system has a built-in battery that lasts for several years before it needs replacing.

Mike

No need to reenter code.
