Default Ouch! wrecked my SG

Most important, no injuries other than my pride. One of those moments my attention drifted just long enough to miss the car in front making a quick stop to avoid blocking an intersection due to stopped traffic on the other side. Not his fault, I just didnt count on him quick stopping. The damage is buckled front fender, upper fork tins, bent right engine/crash guard, broken turn signal, scratched batwing. And a very red face due to embarrassment laying such a beautiful bike down in front of a large audience. I was able to ride it home from there but now starts the long process of insurance and repairs. I could probably do most of the repairs myself to save some money, but i would hate to miss something like bent forks, or damaged frame. I have read that bending crash guard could also damage the frame making a frame replacement part of the repairs. My last bike wreck was almost 30 years ago and much more serious. guess I was due, just happy it was one of those you could actually ride away from.

Sorry to hear about that, but glad you weren't injured. Amazing how fast things can go bad on a bike. Good luck with the repairs, hope you're back on the road soon.

Glad you weren't hurt, as everyone has stated let the dealer and the insurance handle it!

Nobody is ""due" for an accident (well, maybe people talking on the phone are). Glad you were OK, everything else can be fixed.

Very glad to hear you are ok and can spend time working out the repairs. Hope you get it all fixxed and are back in saddle soon. Agree to get the frame and forks checked out. Would be good to also check the bearings in the neck, the wheelbearings and the front rim.

Like everyone else I'm first glad that neither you or anyone else was hurt. Perhaps this has a silver lining and you can take advantage of the situation by doing some upgrades.
