Glad to hear you are alright, bikes can be fixed or replaced. Take your time on repairs, make sure to not press a shop if you do go that route as pushing they miss stuff.
Do not fret, my friend. In Oct. 2009 I hit a dog on a trip to AR, and that caused $7k worth of damage to the bike and 18 months nursing a torn ACL in my left knee. The knee repaired and the bike is now better than it was before thanks to a very generous insurance adjustor. It sounds like you're much better off that I was, so keep your chin up, as you'll be back up and running soon.
How is the ACL doing? Tore mine late sept. Surgury early December. It still aches and is sore as hell! Wondering if I'll be a gimp the rest of my days.
Well after 7 weeks (mostly waiting on painted tins) my bike is finally back in good as new shape.
I need to give a plug to Geiko Insurance who paid within 2 weeks. After them paying I also received my annual bill which did not increase. I don't know if i will be hit with an increase later or not, but nothing yet.
If it wasn't for the wait on the 2 painted parts this would have been completed within a few weeks. It's scarlet red, which i would have figured to be a pretty standard easily ordered color, but apparently they don't just have the parts available. Or customs ties them up from China /shrug.
I'm sure glad I had another bike to ride, I would have gone crazy after such a long wait.
I am glad you ok like everyone else. I wrecked my super glide sport back in December. The front brake locked up will rounding a corner doing 60 mph. As well I wasn't hurt but my pride was busted considering I was on a charity ride. Good luck with your repairs.

Glad to read that you didn't listen to other posters telling you to try to fix it yourself and pocket/spend the difference. IMO that's not good advice. Others will disagree. Now you know it was done professionally. The dealer (and many times the insurance company) will stand behind their work.
