Alright i have a 2005 FLHTCUI my front speakers are cutting/ not even working i took the fairing off and cleaned the connectors still doing it i am not sure whats wrong. Its a stock stereo not sure about the amp, but there is one. the speakers are all aftermarket i hooked the wiring to other speakers and still the same cutting out and not working!!
Are you by chance trying to listen to an MP3 player when the issue occurs? If so, it can be your connection to the MP3 player, or the cable itself is shot (I had my left speaker cutting out, then used the cable in the Jeep, go the same issue - got new cable and all is good). If it is happening all the time, I got no clue.
Had the same problem this weekend. I have the Hogtune amp and speakers, have been installed about two years. The left speaker was cutting out. Took the fairing off and cleaned the connections where the power supply is. In this case the power supplied for the speakers came from the cig lighter. Once I attached the wires the speakers didn't work at all. Problem at this point was a blown fuse. If the speakers are not working at all, check the fuse for the power supply. Doubt it is caused by the amp.
Correct ohm matching important as well as how speakers are wired to match amps stableness at that level of resistance ,parallel , series or series parallel. Ain't no expert but impedance matching vital.
If you really want to talk to an expert talk to: http://www.ironcrossaudio.com/
They will fix your stock head unit if that's what it is.
My head unit went bad on my '08 and it was fixed under warranty,
but when my head unit went bad on my '09 it was out of warranty and Iron Cross fixed it.
Another weird thing.. Turned the bike to on or start either or turned up the radio moved the fader to the front and it worked just fine no cutting out. but while i ride they cut out not sure if this helps anyone trying to help me but its really weird on why it would do that maybe the amp is going bad? When i figure it out ill post on this thread.. Oh and do you think a voltage reader will help see if i am getting the correct amount of power to the front speakers?
