Default Best Touring Model

Just want some opinions, thinking of biting the bullet and getting a new bike next year. I have a 03 FLHTI 22,000on it, I know not a lot of miles, but it is second hand bike. its been a great bike, but what do you guys think the best touring model is, (performance, comfort, ride, and so on.) I know there will be a million different opinions on this, but throw them at me. Should I trade or sell straight out?

Well, based on the mileage on your old bike, you're not really into long-distance touring, so get a nice looking street glide for barhopping or whatever.

Which ever model fits your riding style and wallet best....
Ain't no "one best" in this category....everybody has their favorite / best,
which in all honesty probably isn't 'best' for you .

Have fun

Hard to beat the Ultra Classic for luxury, but I'll take my Street Glide any day.

If you are interested in a full on dresser all the bells and whistle. I vote for the FLHTK(Ultra Limited). Everything depends on what you would like out of the motorcycle. Actually not a bad choice in the bunch in the touring line.

Subjective. Everyone will tell you theirs is the best. Go ride all of them then decide

Since you have a standard touring, Ask your self what is it you want to do.
Are you satisfied with the way your ride handles its duties. Do you want a stereo? More storage? Do you prefer a fairing vs windshield? Do you carry a passenger?
That is how I would think somebody would figure out what model to get.

Next is the question of desire and willingness to seperate from your money.

As an example add a tour pack to your current bike maybe some performance mods vs a new ultra Glide. Big difference in monies.

You mentioned touring so I assume you are considering , Street glide , Road King, or Electra Glide. Of course the Ultra Limited is the best all around touring bike (IMO) unless you want the bling of a CVO.

Selling out right is usually better than trading it in.
However trading can be not too bad , say you find a 1 year old ultra that the previous owner added some extras and they will deal on it and they make you a decent trade offer you may get the tax credit on the trade and come out of the deal getting just what you want.

So , You have a headache that most of us all love to have LOL

If it is a NEW bike you want then whatever your decision , it's all good .

Well, the Road Glide is really the best touring model, it being the only one with a fixed fairing, but you wont be able to buy one next year if you believe the rumors.
