Default Amp Power

I have a couple of questions

1. Should the ground be ran all the way back to the Battery or should I find a place up closer to the AMP?

2. Should my Pos fuse go closest to the Battery or could it also be placed closer to the amp?

3. Anything else I need to do while I have the Battery exposed?

1. Doesnt matter
2. Doesnt matter
3. No

I ran my ground to a post inside the fairing and have the fuse next to my battery just to make it easier to get to just in case it decides to blow. Either way, you should be fine with however you decide to do it.

The shorter the ground wire the better, so find a good ground close to the amp and you are good.

The fuse should be closest to the battery rather than the amp.

Check the + and - on the battery, make sure they are clean and dry.

Ground should be as short as possible. Be careful grounding inside the fairing. I have never had my batwing completely removed, but I am not aware of any bonding wire between the fork and main frame. If your ground is not run through a wire that goes back to the main frame, your grounding is through the fork bearings. Possible problems! I ran a wire through the bottom of my fairing to the hex bolt that attaches the top of the engine guard.

normally the ground goes as short as possible but... after i had problems with amp called rockford fosgate and they recommended ground to battery, took care of my problems.fuse for power as close to battery as possible,if the wire rubs through between the battery and fuse u will melt the battery and possible fire.

I have an amp called Rockford Fosgate and used one of their install kits w/ the short ground. I haven't had any problems yet, but what was your problem and what was their explanation? How were you originally grounded?
