There ARE no base gaskets used for a 107, they use O-Rings like stock builds do. If folks use too much lube during assembly... that crap WILL leak out because the cylinder studs are OUTSIDE of the o-ring. It usually DOES stop after awhile.
IMHO... 107 is simply too big and takes away too much material from the liners, but I am alone in this thought, I guess

Ive seen people use red assembly lube so they can tell the difference during breaking.
On another note; im also trying to figure out why there are so many more posts on the 107 vs the HD Stage 4 kit. Since Im looking at that kit as well since I love my dealership and its 15min from the house vs a 2k mile round trip to FM.

I agree with you and everyone else. I figure I would be good with my TW-555 and some level B heads. Plenty of power but yet reliability. Correct me if I am wrong.
No problem with my 107 except getting the tune correct. I went through three different tuners to get it correct. You can build a big engine but if the tune isn't correct it'll be your worst nightmare.
i dont bore good cylinders unless i have too, cams is it for me unless i have to go in for another problem.then its weld the crank bump up comp w\releases,porting and lots more cam, if the cylinders are good even then i don't bore.

true story. i went to the same tuner 3 times to get it right
The 107 build has proven to be reliable and robust. I built mine last winter, 10.75 compression, tw8 cams, se throttle body, ported heads and clutch upgrades. It's a stump puller, and is much, much stronger than the stage II 103 that it replaced.
The only issue I have is the gas mileage. I went from close to 50 mpg on my 96" motor to the high 30s now depending on how I ride. I really consider mine a pretty mild build. Runs great and makes some great numbers (108hp/125tq) but the mileage sucks.
