Default H-D cvo premium shocks

Stopped by the local dealer to price Progressive 944's so I can replace the street glide shocks installed on my 07 FLHT in order to lower it an inch. They said they've been getting good reviews back on a non air shock that harley originally put on cvo's.Think they're called premium somethin or other. It's adjustable by hand and 2 to 3 bills cheaper than the progressives.Anybody heard good or bad about these.Don't want to wind up with the same crappy ride the steet glide shocks give me!

I have them on my limited and no complaints but then I really don't have anything to compare them against.

I had them on a Roadking. For me, I didn't weigh enough for the shock. They were a ton better than the stock air shock though

i have the 944's and also tried the cvo premium's, The premium's are way better then the stock crap the motor company gives you but arent near as nice as the 944's. The 944's are $537.00 and the premiums aren't that much cheaper. There are a set on ebay right now that are close to new, so check them out. For me if i could have gotten the premium for $200.00 i would have bought them they were good enough for what i wanted til i tried the 944's! im happy with my choice and i don't think you would be disappointed either way.

Did you change them out yourself or let the dealer do it? Wondering how difficult it is ?

Easier then taking a pee!! you just need a jack so you can take some weight off the rear wheel. you can use an auto jack with a piece of wood but be careful and have a second person handy.

How convenient are the progressive's to adjust? Any tools required?

So I tried them 2-up when I rode my buddies bike. They seem to absorb the little bumps very well, but actually seemed a little "floaty" over the small bumps to me. Much better than stock air shocks.

I have a set of CVO Shocks on my 2012 FLHTC, and I love them. You can usually pick up a set of CVO "take offs" for around $250-$300. They are a TON better then the stock crappy HD air shocks, and very easy to put on too. I didn't even use a jack when I did mine, I just popped my bike up on it's HD Center Stand, and installed them.

I'm sure that the Progressives are better, and more expensive, but I've never had a set of those to compare.

Good Luck
