Yep, the TPS connector is on the left side of the throttle body. I am not sure about the newer models, with true fly-by-wire, but with the older cable actuated ones you, obviously, can disconnect the bugger and ride away. You may need to remove the air cleaner and all to do so. I have a cannondale multitool that I got for bicycle riding that had heads for all of the specialty fasteners used there. BTW, why in the world did Harley use so many different fasteners? Just to frustrate folks? Seems odd. The multi-tool even had an allen wrench large enough for that big honking bolt on the air cleaner cover.
The mechanic said that riding it without the TPS didn't hurt the engine at all. The only problem would be the fact that the "steps" that the ECM normally provides wouldn't be available. So, should there be a next time, I will not hesitate to disconnect.
They had to replace one of the breather bolts that jut out of the heads....dunno where that sucker went....the rest was warranty work. Total cost $67. Not bad, I think.
