Default 04 Electra Glide $$

So, San Jose Harley has a pretty nice 04 E/Glide
Classic. It's over 60K miles though. It looks & sounds pretty
nice. They want $9800 for it. It looks to be in VERY
good condition. Has some funny trim pieces (no big
deal) But that mileage is a concern. The saleman is a
friend of mine. He's going to chk for service records (etc)
for me. So looking for thoughts, ideas etc. I'm kind of stuck in the 10K
price range. I need to keep it (close) to the $$ for what I can get
for my Heritage (or close)Should I just say F it & go for it or should
I be scared & just run away?
They'll probl wheel n deal a little. They won't give me d*** for the Heritage
in trade for a used one (told me 8K in trade for new- 5-6 for this used 04)

I think its a bit high for that bike with that mileage.

Have him check if the cam chain tensioners have been done.

If you agree on a price, I'd make a deal contingent upon them checking (and showing you) the condition of the tensioners if they have not been done recently.

Seems a bit high, tensioner's would also be a concern

I have an 04 R/K Custom, 33k and have all the records (second owner). I am now converting to hard bags and repainting it from real red to vivid black. Its all stock except I just put a big sucker and black thunderheader 2:1 and chrome front legs with new style headlight and passing lights. I will be selling it soon, my plan was to wait until the spring riding season starts, its located in San Carlos if youre interested. I wont have the sheet metal back for a couple weeks though.

With all due respect, Calif vehicles usually have a higher premium.

Good to know. If nothing comes of this (there is one other EGC I'm looking into on craigslist-an 02 clean, black - He is asking 12K though. Has qk detach TP etc. Gonna at least look at it.
If nothing else pops I'd like to at least look at it. Funny too, I like the bags on the RK Cust. Are the wheels orig? Those are Street Glide wheels, but silver huh? Is it the silver & chrome motor?

Thank you too everyone else for your information and replies.
I think I would insist on a very complete check over.
Tmg chain tensioners, charging syst output, brakes
swing arm bsgs, mtr mounts etc.
We all know how dealers do used veh chks. Qk oil change (maybe) and chk the air in the tires and a quick whorebath.
