Thanks!!
ORIGINAL: bay13
I know Benjys in WV at 304523-1340 sells at 20% off suggested retail. Call and ask to talk to Jenni.
$339.95 retail minus the 20% is $271.96. It can be found on page 483 of the 2007 accessories catalog.

GREAT reply's, and I thank all of you...
I wonder what the HD book time is for the cruise install?? anybody know??
They told me any HD parts I buy at their parts counter and have THEM install only carry's a 90 day warranty. If the service side sells me the parts and installs them I get a 2 year warranty, but they bang me big time on install $$$ time.
I just got this bike 2 days ago, the sales portion of the deal was absolutely great, but dealing with the service dept. on install quotes has been $$$ troublesome, for example I bought a shorter antenna and taller 9" windscreen, they wanted to charge me 2 hours labor to install these two items when the factory items were off the bike to start with... every item has a time $$$price even if nothing was there to start with, then they charged me 3 hours to install the fog lights, and they put that switch on the left handlebar instead of the dash where I wanted it, and mounted the lights 1" inboard after they drilled the wire holes in the case guard too far in... then they charged meto install the turn signal/brake convertor under the seat, when they have to connect the battery anyways, and they still left the battery hold down clamp loose... then they wanted 2 more hours to install the new grips.... then they wanted to charge me 2 to 3 additional hours to install the passenger and riderbackrest hardware when everything was already off the bike for prep, I said ferget that ****... it takes them longer to install a few accessories than HD did to build the whole damn bike... after that I said put ALL of the rest of the parts in the box, the reamer was over, I paid cash for the bike, paid for the parts, and went home... I did more in less than 4 hours on it yesterday myself, without a lift, that they wanted to charge me 7+ MORE hours time for...
what's with all the clamp heads showing on the exhaust stuff? tacky tacky...
I degress....
anyways, I need some slip-on's and either the S1 upload or a PCIII....
only 110 miles on it, but this may just be the best bike i've owned yet...
thanx, Jim

CC was one of my first mods on this bike. It went smooth and without much issue.
Side note: When I was waiting to pick up my bike, I was not actually waiting on the bike, the bike was there, I was wait on getting back to the States. Well anyway, I had my wife ask the Dealer for a quote for a few items. One thing that really stands out is I wanted to get a fairing bag. The dealer wanted 1 hour labor to stick the velcro on the bike. I have never used the dealer since picking up the bike.

Pick-up 3 or 4 part no. 11193 c-clips at the dealer, they are maybe $.40 each; also buy a couple of extra brass ferules for the throttle and idle cable ends that go in the right hand grip. The c-clipsecures the end of the cruise cable to the throttle and getting iton in the tight space between the cylinders can be a pain, and can be easily lost. So pick up extras and if you happen to have one dissappear during the installation, you can avoid a trip to the dealer or hardware store. The samething with the brass ferules; they are small and canget lost. If you don't use the extras or have themleft over, keep them or return them on your nextvisit to the dealer.
Did the installation on my '04 EG last November, lost the c-clipthat came with the kit but had four more on hand--no problem with the installation.
If you don't have an HD Service Manual buy it for 20% off list price when you buy the cruise control unit. Zanotti's HD in Butler, Pa and Chicago HD are also 20% off list HD stores. The Service Manual will tell you how to do the install and the cruise cable initialization refrenced in thecruisekiit's installation instructions, and the book will more than pay for itself with this one installation.

The wind shield is 3 t27 bolts and should have taken less than 5 minutes to install , they should have done that for free considering you just bought the bike . Glad you did not pay them for those b/s prices.
2007 touring models service manual part #99483-07 , best money you could spend !

I installed my cruse and had no troubles at all. I would suggets buying a manual to help understand the instructions more completely. Take your time , read and understand what and why you are doing each step and you will be fine. You can buy the manual and lots of parts for the $400 you save by doing the job yourself.

okay, i'm gonna do it myself.... I have a semi handicapped left hand, but i'm gonna do it. I plan on replacing the speakers and replace the air temp (really wacko readings) with an oil temp gauge at the same time. Do you have to remove the tank??
sooooooooooooooooooo, I just came back from a ride to Key Largo and back, and I have one little question...
wtf is up with 5th gear ????? [>:]
thanx, Jim

well I guess you noticed a lack of power in 5th gear at highway speeds right?
And it used to run great?
well so far HDMOCO is denying a problem exists (no recalls or tech bulletins).
And if your bike is NOT 100% stock they will blame the problem on anything and everything.
I know, I'm going through that with them now since September 2006.
first make sure you have the newest injectors suffix 06A
Then if Everything else checks out, check for an oil sumping problem.
So far that's what most people are experiencing or are being led to believe is the cause.
My dealer keeps blaming muffler, but has failed to diagnose them and prove or disprove them as the cause.
Has done the injectors, stage one and Screaming Eagle Race tuner and re-ringed the motor.
Now they are back to blaming the mufflers again.
About the cruise.
I got an 01 flhtci I'm rebuilding.
Actual mounting runing the cables etc is easy and straight forward.
Yes the tank should come off it's easier that way.
And the fairing has to be opened.
The hardest part is in removing the sockets from the deustch connector. and then resetting the throttle cable ternsions.
But the instruction sheets and service manual are good.

No reason for the tank to come off on a 07 , comes with new right side controls that are plug and play near the bars. Unit mounts to battery box so battery has to come out. Also you will have to wire in the switch , take off the ignition **** to get faring cap off . If I remember correctly the directions were not clear on the lash adjustment , but the manual explains very clearly . page 8-105 , which is the most important part of the install , because cruise won/t work properly if you don;t do it.
